Wondering what color to paint your front door?
This perfect off-black shade will add drama and class to your entryway!
A dark front door color will add an instant touch of class and drama to your entryway. We’ve used this color on the interior front door of our own house and the exterior doors of fixer-upper homes as well. I love the look it gave to both the interiors and exteriors.
Behr Paint’s Private Black is not a harsh black. I like to call it an off-black. It’s really a soft, deep, rich charcoal with just a hint of a brown undertone. Private Black provides a perfect contrast, especially when paired with other gray or white shades.
We usually use Behr paints because of their quality, affordability, and convenience. You can have the paint mixed at Home Depot and take it home with you when you’re done getting the rest of your renovation necessities. It’s super convenient for us personally not to have to drive to a separate paint store whenever we run out or need a new color mixed.
This is the before picture of the inside of our front door and entryway. You may also notice that the carpet was removed and the tile was replaced.

We used glazed porcelain floor and wall tile by MS International in Metro Charcoal. The tiles are 12″ x 24″ with a contemporary fabric-y look. I chose this shade because I love the warm gray/taupe-y color and the way it blends with the wall color and contrasts with the trim color.

Another tip to add instant curb appeal is to fill in the front yard landscape with mulch and some drought resistant plants. I especially like the black mulch shown below, but be aware that it will fade over time.

Painting the front porch a nice, neutral shade is also a very nice touch that will pull together the whole look and make the concrete (or wood, if you have a wooden porch) look brand new. Even if it’s old and discolored or stained like this one was before it was painted.
All paint used is Behr Paint, however this is not a sponsored post and I am not being compensated in any way.
