The first ever National Consignment Day is on October 2nd!
Consignment is the word for giving over to another person, custody or care of any material or goods but retaining legal ownership until the material or goods are sold. In consignment shops, it is usually understood that the consignee (the seller) pays the consignor (the person who owns the item) a portion of the proceeds from the sale. Payment is not made until and unless the item sells.
With 2.5 billion pounds of textiles saved from landfills through resale, consignment is not only financially smart, it’s also sustainable.
Consigning is a great way to make smart, sustainable fashion choices and earn extra money just before the holidays!

Have you ever consigned or donated clothes to an organization?
I always try to sell or donate any clothes or household items that I no longer need or use.
TheRealReal makes consigning (and buying) brand name clothes easy.
All you have to do is sign up for a free account with them and you can either sell your items with them or shop available items.
If you want to consign your unwanted but still valuable items, all you have to do is print a pre-paid shipping label to ship your items for free! After they receive your items, TheRealReal will photograph, merchandise, and sell your items fast, usually within 3 days. And you can earn up to 70% of the sale price for your items.
They have a HUGE list of designers they currently carry and accept consignments for, which you can find here.
These are some examples of just a few of the things that caught my eye and all of these items are only around $50 each!
