If there’s one thing I’m a little too good at, it’s procrastinating. You know the phrase, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today”?
Yeah, I never heard it either.
Now that we’re at the beginning of a new year, I’d like to say that things are going to change. I’d like to say that I will get up before noon seven days a week and that I’ll fold my clean laundry and put it away the day it comes out of the dryer. But the fact is, I know that I won’t change. I do have the very best intentions on setting goals for myself this year though. I’m not big on the whole “resolutions” thing, because I feel like they’re just made to be broken.
Here’s a short list of some of my goals for this year:
- Read 20 books this year (I had this same goal last year, but only made it to 9.)
- Cook at home 3 times per week
- Post on my blog at least 3 times per week
- Make it to a 7,500 daily step average (Tracking with Fitbit. I’d like to get to 10,000 daily, but let’s begin with something more realistic.)
I know I’ve been pretty amazing at putting off posting here too. I have this little voice inside my head that keeps saying, “Yeah, but who cares? Why would anyone want to read that?” every time I sit down to write but I’m trying to get over it and just say what I have to say anyway. I hope the new year brings many good things to us all. What are some of your goals or resolutions?
Here’s to 2016!
