1. You aren’t taking care of your skin

This is number one because I can’t stress this enough.

Seriously. A good skin care regimen is absolutely essential to not only keep your skin younger looking, but also hydrated and comfortable!

As we age, our skin is less able to retain moisture on its own and it becomes even more important than ever to take care of it. Pamper your skin! It will reward you in kind.

Even if you have oily skin, it’s important to hydrate.

2. You’re wearing the wrong makeup and clothing colors

It’s more and more important as we leave our 30s, 40s, etc. behind that we are wearing colors that flatter us rather than detract from our natural coloring.

Wearing the wrong colors will draw attention to flaws like wrinkles or uneven skin tone while wearing harmonious colors enhances your natural beauty, making you appear healthy and fresh-faced.

If you aren’t sure what colors you should be avoiding and which ones you should be wearing, I’d be happy to help. I offer different color consultation packages so you can decide what level you’d like.

3. Your teeth are stained

My former boss, who retired in 2012, once held a workshop for her “mature customers” where she talked about the top things that you can do to look younger and one of these was to whiten your teeth.

Drinking coffee, soda, even tea and a lot of the foods that we eat can, over time, leave our teeth looking not quite as white as they could be.

Active Wow Teeth Whitening Charcoal Powder was listed on BuzzFeed’s list of Cult-Favorite Beauty Products That Are Actually Worth Your Money.

4. You’re not curling your eyelashes

Another tip from my former boss’ workshop was to curl your lashes.

Curling your eyelashes gives your eyes a more open look.

Always curl before applying mascara!

I like Tweezerman’s Great Grip Eyelash Curler and they have the very best tweezers ever too.

5. Your hair needs more moisture or if your hair is gray, you could use a purple shampoo to keep it from looking dingy

Our hair becomes drier as we get older. The best thing that I can recommend for this is a collagen supplement. Collagen helps with bone health, joints and also your skin and hair.

Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. If you color your hair, make sure the shampoo your using protects your color. I love argan oil for my hair. This set has it all!

If you have gray hair, keep it silvery bright by using a purple shampoo. This is also very beneficial for blonde hair!

Bonus! 6. Your lipstick doesn’t stay in place

Using a lip primer will not only make your lip color last longer, but it also prevents feathering and bleeding into the lines around the mouth.

This is an age-fighting lip primer that also reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the lips and around the lip area while extending lipstick wear and preventing lipstick and lip gloss from feathering and bleeding.

I hope this post has helped you re-think some things you may be doing that are working against you. Please let me know if you’d like to see more tip posts like this.
