Wardrobe Guides for Every Tone

Welcome to Part 2 of my wardrobe guides series. In this post, I’ve put together an inspirational wardrobe guide for each tonal category. These are basic guides for Light, Deep, Warm, Cool, Clear, and Soft Tones.

If you know your best neutrals and your best accent colors, you can build an (almost) effortless wardrobe!

Use your neutrals for basics and investment pieces like pants, skirts, jackets, and outerwear. Use your accents for tops, dresses, and yes, accent pieces!

Light Tones can be either warm or cool, clear or soft, Spring or Summer colors but always light.

The Light Tone Neutrals are Soft White, Taupe, Cocoa, Light Gray, Medium Gray, and Charcoal Blue. Accents are Dusty Rose, Pastel Pink, Light Blue Green, and Cornflower Blue.

Deep Tones can be either warm or cool, soft or clear, Autumn or Winter colors but always deep/dark.

The Deep Tone Neutrals are Stone, Taupe, Charcoal, Navy, and Black Brown, and Black. Accents are Maroon, Royal Purple, Yellow Gold, and Dark Teal.

Warm Tones can be either clear or soft, light or deep, Spring or Autumn colors but always warm.

The Warm Tone Neutrals are Ivory, Cream, Camel, Caramel, Coffee Brown, and Chocolate Brown. Accents are Terracotta, Mustard, Moss Green, and Teal.

Cool Tones can be light or deep, soft or clear, Summer or Winter colors but always cool.

The Cool Tone Neutrals are Soft White, Light Gray, Medium Gray, Charcoal, Black, and Navy. Accents are Raspberry Red, Orchid, Violet, and Sapphire Blue.

Clear Tones can be light or deep, warm or cool, Spring or Winter colors but always clear/bright.

The Clear Tone Neutrals are Pure White, Off White, Black Brown, Charcoal, Navy, and Black. Accents are True Red, Bright Golden Yellow, True Blue, and True Green.
