10 Simple Pleasures Not to Overlook

not campingOver the weekend, I was reminded by a fellow blogger friend that perfection isn’t everything. (Thank you, Stephanie!) She turned the name of her blog into a hashtag that I will absolutely be using on instagram! You can see her post here too –  #NotEntirelyPerfect

You see, lately I’ve been so worried about having the perfect picture or a professional looking post with perfect SEO or whatever that it’s scared me into doing nothing at all instead of putting something out there that might not be entirely perfect. I forgot that when I started this blog, I wasn’t going to “try to make this blog fit any kind of mold or try to fulfill any expectations. Other than my own.” Yes, that was me that said that. Remember, Sarena? Okay, so I want to make sure my content is quality and I want to try to get people to read my blog, well guess what? No one’s going to read it if there’s nothing there! So, I’m challenging myself to create posts, get things out there even if they’re not “perfect” because last time I checked, humans aren’t perfect and I’m almost positive that I’m a human being. Almost.

Mostly because I need to remind myself of these small things I enjoy, here are 10 simple pleasures not to be overlooked:

Using up the very last bit of something that you’ve had forever so that you can finally throw away or recycle the container. (And possibly even replace said item with a new one)

Opening a fresh box of crayons or colored pencils and seeing the beautiful, sharp ends all lined up and ready to use.

Snuggling under a fuzzy blanket with your pet(s) when it’s cold and rainy outside.

Getting likes on your posts. I don’t care which app it’s on or how many it gets; I love it every time someone “likes” something I’ve done.

Trying out a recipe for the first time and having it turn out delicious.

Finishing one book in a series and starting to read the next one.

Wearing a pair of shoes that have molded to your feet just right.

That feeling of fresh, clean sheets when you get into bed after a hot shower.

The smell of something yummy baking in the oven. Bonus points if it’s something with chocolate chips or cinnamon.

And one extra. I love not camping.
