I guess you could say that I took a long, unplanned blog break. I’ve read a lot of other bloggers talk about this and what they learned during their unplanned breaks. It’s a little bit funny because I don’t think anyone ever plans to take a break from their blog unless a major life event is happening or maybe a vacation or something.
So, what have I been doing during my unplanned blog break, you ask? Not a whole lot, if I’m going to be entirely honest. I wish I had something profound to say or that I had some sort of epiphany and I have everything all figured out now, but it just isn’t true.
We still have no kitchen. Refer to this post for the behind the scenes look at that story. But, it is starting to come along. And what I do have to share with you are some kitchen renovation photos.

Just a little demolition.
Then we were really without a kitchen.
One of the best things to come about from this was opening up the wall between the kitchen and living room completely.
Of course, we need to be able to eat a few things at home, even without a kitchen, so a card table and a microwave are a quick fix. Tabitha liked this arrangement.
Finally, new sheetrock went up and we painted primer over the old and new walls.
The struggle is real. There was never a more appropriate sign. And it lights up! You can find this awesome little sign here.
Fast forward to today. New window is in! New led can lights are in! Paint is on the walls and ceiling! (Walls are Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter and ceiling is Behr Swiss Coffee.) The parts we left unpainted are where the cabinets and subway tile backsplash will be. I can’t wait to have more to share with you and to be able to enjoy it as it all comes together!
